Case Study #1: Corporate HQ Assessment

A Fortune 500 company hired us to assess the physical security at their corporate headquarters, located in a high rise building in a major metropolitan area. The assessment began by looking at crime trends in the surrounding neighborhood and continued inward by looking at the property, including features on the site, including hardscape and landscaping. An assessment was conducted of the building envelope, including the construction materials used, number and types of windows, doors and door hardware, locks and locking hardware and other potential access points such as vents, skylights, etc. Electronic security was evaluated, including electronic access control systems, alarms and video surveillance systems. Contract security guards were also evaluated, including staffing levels, posts and post orders, training and supervision. Finally, corporate security policies and procedures were reviewed. The assessment identified critical security flaws that were quickly corrected, allowing the company to reduce both security risk and liability.
